Frequently Asked Questions

A few commonly asked questions.

Is rabbit meat healthy?

Rabbit meat is one of the healthiest, leanest and most environmentally friendly meats available. Compared with other meats rabbit has the highest percentage of protien and lowest percentage of fat. The rabbits we raise at Wild North Farm are raised with love in rabbit families rather than alone in their own cages as is the case at most commercial rabbitries, happy meat tastes better and is healthier for you! We also take care to buy high quality local and organic feed for the rabbits along with seasonal forage to provide the best diet possible. We never use any chemicals or synthetics with any of our animals.

Do you sell pork?

We sell our hogs live. If you want to have the hog slaughtered on the farm then you can arrange for a local butcher to do that. If you would like to reserve a hog please contact us for pricing and more information. Our hogs are raised in families with access to seasonal forage and fed organic locally grown grains and hay. We never use any chemicals or synthetics. These hogs are happy, healthy and well loved. We raise American Guinea hog crosses and Ossabaw Island hogs. You can read the links below to find out more about these breeds. Once you taste the meat you will know one reason why we love these breeds so much.

What kind of herbal products do you have available?
What we have for herbal products can vary depending on the time of year. We make tinctures, lotions, salves and dry herb blends. We will be expanding our herbal offerings so please check back for updates and new product listing on this website or sign up to be on our email list to get updates that way.
Can we visit your farm?

The farm is currently closed to visitors. If you are picking up a product you are welcome to arrange a time to get a short tour of the farm. We believe the best way for our customers to feel confident about the products they are buying is to see where they came from. We will also be working on several short videos to share here on the website so please stay tuned and sign up for our email updates.
